Week 1

We are one week into the school year and it seems to be going well.
Hadley is very comfortable going  to school and happily packs her bag each day with snacks and her water bottle (filling it herself).
We walk every day (so far) and I have learned that asking her what she did doesn't amount to much of an answer.  However if I ask:  what was the story about today or did you go to the gym or play outside today, or did you paint, play with playdoh or play in the house centre then I get more answers from her.  Sometimes I even get bits of a new song she learned if I ask the right questions.
Today I got her first artwork sent home.  An orange and red painting with her first name printed by her on the front.  I loved it.  What a gift!

Tonight we added in dance class for the first time.
Result = we are all tired.
Hadley used to have an 8:30pm bedtime.  Now we are starting at 7:30pm.
All week Easton has had his nap from 1pm - 3pm allowing me to get some things done in the afternoon while Hadley was at school.  However, this morning he was tired and had a half hour nap, resulting in no afternoon nap.  So we had a playdate with Patti, Alicia and Chelsea.  This was nice.  It has felt like forever since I saw Patti.  (Alicia is in mornings for school so we have planned an upcoming dinner playdate so the girls can see each other).  Hadley asked me today to plan a playdate with Alicia because she missed her.  It was very cute.
All in all we are settling in to the new routine with the biggest change noted as lack of sleep and playdates that are less often then they once were but still great quality.
