Today was my 33rd birthday. It was a great day!
It started with Brian waking up with the kids and letting me sleep-in until a glorious 10:30am.
Hadley and Easton were up late last night at Splash & Boots (a kids music show at the town hall) which was really good but this meant they were up late; This late night meant that Easton slept-in and Brian could attend to some work as well as watch over the kids in the morning but WHATEVER... I will take it! It was glorious! (Is there a better word for glorious? Because whatever it is... I LOVED MY SLEEP IN). :)
(This sleep-in was especially great since Brian has been away for work for a week and a half except for a day and a half break in the middle).
YAY SLEEP! The ultimate gift!
Then came presents...
This was so funny.
Brian asked Hadley what does mommy love? What should we get her for her birthday? (Paraphrased...).
Her answer: Mommy loves laundry. We should get her laundry baskets.
Brian: What else does mommy love?
Hadley: me.
So Hadley put herself in two new laundry baskets and Brian draped wrapping paper over the top so that when I opened my gift she would pop out. It was way too cute.
I also received an eneloop charger and rechargeable batteries. I am excited about this because I am always changing batteries around here with two kids. :)
Hadley and Brian also had balloons for me that said Happy 8th birthday. We laughed about this for a while.
Then there was pizza and a DQ treatza pizza! Mmmmm... Hadley picked out Happy Birthday Candles. The kind that has one candle for each letter in HAPPY BIRTHDAY; only it actually said hBppy birthday. We laughed about this for a while too. :)
After dinner we had popcorn and watched Mary Poppins.
What a great day!
