Price Matching
So today (Sunday) I decided to do all my grocery shopping at Walmart. I have never done this before but I wanted to try the price matching that they offer.
So last night I collected all my flyers, circled all the items I wanted to buy, then made a list of other groceries and put aside my coupons that I had associated with my list.
All in all it was worth it. I saved about $30 in price matching and an additional $13 in coupons.
HOWEVER... things I learned: 1. write on the top of flyers which things are in each flyer that you want to buy so it is easy to find at the checkout. 2. Don't go on the weekend. 3. Don't go when the baby needs a nap, OR DO go without kids.
It took 2 hours to do my shopping mostly because it was Walmart on the weekend but also because I had two kid with me and after washroom breaks and lunch at McDonalds the time just got away from us.
On the plus side I wasn't taking kids in and out of a car to get deals at multiple stores.
There are a few stores that I would still like to get to this week if I can. Why? A new Sobeys opened in North Ajax this week and there are some amazing deals there. (I tried to price match them but Walmart didn't have black diamond cheese and a few other good deals that this new store was advertising). Also, Giant Tiger has just re-opened after their fire and they have some amazing deals on too that I couldn't seem to find at Walmart.
