Camel Ride at the Zoo and fun in the rain
Yesterday I took both kids to the zoo and I was finally able to let Hadley spend her $6 from the garage sale on a camel ride. She has waited a long time for it and was VERY excited. She counted her six loonies, paid the lady, got her ticket and went on easily. She went around the track and had a smile the whole time. She got off and said: Mommy, I went bumpy, bumpy, bumpy all the way around.
I loved seeing how happy that made her.
After this she wanted to do the carousel but I opted for the zoomobile instead and she was okay with that.
While on the zoomobile she said: Mommy, I have been on this before.
This is cool because I think the last time I took her on it was last summer. Yay for long term memory!
I learn something new every time I ride the zoomobile. This time I learned that flamingos stand on one foot because they can put half of their body to sleep at one time. Cool.
Hadley still wanted the carousel afterwards but we opted to go to the van as the sky looked GREY! We made it to the front gate and stood under their umbrellas for a while until it let up "a little" and then Hadley and I made a run for it in our rubber boots (I thought it might rain) for the van. We laughed and had a great time. Easton was in decent spirits too while he was hidden away in the stroller from the rain but when I had to transfer him to the van he wasn't so happy.
After packing everything up I was soaked but the kids were smiling and playing with some toys in the van. So it was all good.
As I drove to leave the rain stopped. Oh well. It is sometimes fun to play in the rain .
