Pickering Museum Village

For a long time Brian and I have wanted to check out Pickering Museum Village.  It is celebrating the 50th anniversary this year showcasing the 19 restored heritage buildings.  The Pioneer village lets you explore a wood shop, a blacksmith shop, a general store, a school house, barns, gardens and much more.  The chapel is currently under restoration.
It was $5.50 per person, somehow working out to $11.01 for Hadley and I.  However this included a game session with about 15 other kids, a craft session where she made a pop-up puppet and then the tour of the grounds.  We had a picnic lunch and then Hadley made flour, grinding it herself and wrapped up some mail in brown paper to pretend to send out.  As well she enjoyed some checkers.  It was a good day.  Next time we will bring Brian.

Just to clarify, Brian did suggest we go without him to this special kids day as he had to work and couldn't be there with us.
