6 months ... and 4 years

This weekend was a busy one.
On Friday night we took Easton to his first Blue Jays game.  We were up high in the 500 level but had a great time!  The kids were awake way too late but I am still glad we went.
We were interviewed by CBC.  You can find the write up here:  http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/story/2011/04/01/sp-jays-kelly.html
The jays won!
I was there but honestly didn't pay attention to much of the game as I had two kids to keep my attention occupied.  :)  Still it was cool to be part of the season opener and the great audience.

Saturday marked Easton turning 6 months old.  Where has the time gone?  To celebrate we went to the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival.  We wandered the crazy streets with the two kids in tow.  We enjoyed much maple syrup and pancake goodness among other treats!
After, we dropped Brian off at his friend Mike's house in Guelph and then headed to Listowel.
While at my dad's I measured Easton on his wall and found that he is taller than Hadley was at 1 year old.  WOW!  (More on that below).

On Sunday Hadley, Easton and I went out for breakfast with my dad and accidentally met up with my aunt Nancy and uncle Kent.
Then later in the day we celebrated my dad's birthday with my sister, my nephew, my brother and my grandma and papa.  I love when I am in town and get to see so many people!
This was especially cool as it was my grandparents first time meeting Easton as we were so sick at Christmas and when we were supposed to meet up last month they were too sick.
We got a four generation photo for Easton as we did for Hadley when she was young.
It was a busy and tiring weekend but good fun!

Today Easton had his 6 month doctors appointment and he measured 71 cm which is in the 90th percentile.  This is up from 69 cm at 4 months.
He is now 18 pounds up from 15 pounds 3.5 ounces at 4 months putting him at approximately the 65th and his head measurement is now 44 cm up from 43 cm.
The appointment ended with him being so brave taking two needles, one in each thigh.  These shots included the third round of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio IVP, Haemophilus influenza type B, and pneumo conjugate.  He was not happy about it and didn't sleep at all today.  (Okay one 20 minute nap and one 40 minute nap but nothing like his usual naps of 1.5 hours times 2).  He is asleep now but seems very uncomfortable every time he wakes up.  Hopefully the night goes okay.

To compare Hadley at 6 months, she was 14 pounds 1 ounce, 66 cm long and a head circumfirance of 43 cm.
Easton's sounds are SO cute.  Di-aa, di-aa, di-aa.  Even his cry is adorable.  It is more like words than cries.

While at the doctors today I got Hadley weighed and measured as she is now 4 years old.  She is 34 pounds and 98 cm.  This puts her in the 25th percentile for weight and height.
Her cute word to note at the moment is Yogret.  Not yogurt.  This is also one of her favorite foods.

I went to weight watchers today and I still have approximately 30 pounds to loose from the 50 that I gained with Easton's pregnancy.  SLOW and steady.  I know.
I was down 1.6 pounds today so it is at least going in the right direction.  I am finding it much harder this time to take the weight off.

So that is the 6 month update!
