Skating
Last year we took Hadley skating and she really didn't enjoy it. We took her anyway so that she would have a taste of what it was about; but today when I took her it was just SO much fun!
I took her out on the ice and she was so confident! I told her prior to going that falling might happen but that is how you learn to skate and so when she did fall she was actually mostly okay with it. :)
She first tried the skate trainer that we bought last year but it really didn't provide her the stability that a pylon did. Once she had that pylon... WOW! It was just so awesome to watch!
Hadley was putting her chin on the pylon so then I gave her two pylons and this kept her upright. She was all over the rink! It was awesome to watch. She even did a few shuffle steps without a pylon.
We borrowed Norah's skates and Alicia's extra helmet and now I think there is enough interest to buy skates and a helmet for her to have her own.
I found out that Iroquois Park Rec Centre in Whitby had a mom and tot skate where you can put the stroller right on the ice. THIS WORKS FOR US! There were literally only 3 or so others on the ice. We had so much room to practice. For the low cost of $4.85 for an hour.
On another cool note: I found out that the mom and tot program runs until June! I will try to put this into my regular routine as long as I feel Easton will sleep in the stroller like he did today.
AWESOME!
