Last midwife appointment

2010-11-18 18:12:31 • by Leanne Verkley

Yesterday was our last midwife appointment with Jenny.  Not only because Easton is now old enough to go to our regular doctor but because Jenny is leaving the practice to pursue other teachings with midwifery.
It was bittersweet.  We really wanted to see her, and get all the updates on Easton but we knew it might be the last time we would see Jenny.
Words can't describe enough of a thank you to someone who helps you to bring your children into the world.  In the next little while I will try to summarize how truly special she was and send that into the clinic.

As for the details of this visit:
Easton's weight was 12 pounds 5 ounces yesterday up from 9 pounds 7 ounces at birth only six weeks ago.
To compare sizes, Hadley was 9 pounds 12 ounces at 6 weeks old.  (Basically his birth weight at 6 weeks).
His head circumference was 41 cm up from 36.5 cm at birth.  Hadley's head grew 3 cm in the same time frame.
Easton was 59 cm up from 54 cm at birth.  Hadley grew 2 cm in the same time frame.

In short, he is a big boy!

To add:  Hadley was one of her first babies that she delivered in the practice and Easton was one of her last.
