Easton is 6 weeks old
Easton is 6 weeks old today. What did we do this week?
We spent three days in Ottawa.
We decided that we would join Brian in Ottawa as he had to go there for business. So after an early morning drive we arrived in Ottawa and dropped Brian off directly at a meeting. Hadley, Easton and I had lunch and shopped while he finished his day and then we joined back up and headed to the Marriot Hotel for the night. The only other stop we made was to enjoy dinner at Tuckers Marketplace.
We were all tired after a busy day.
The next day Brian was out and about with work, so Hadley, Easton and I took the time we had to wander around the parliament buildings, the eternal flame, the rideau shopping centre, and Sparks street.
God Bless Sparks street! When you have a toddler and a new born. It made it so much easier to let Hadley have some freedom and the benches allowed for nursing breaks when absolutely necessary. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about... Sparks street is a street with no cars. :)
After a full day out, we also spent a great deal of time on the 4th floor of our hotel. Here there was an indoor slide, and playroom. Hadley had a great time!
We ordered in a late dinner of pizza to the room as Brian was still out with work and I was just too tired to take both kids out again and then went to bed.
The last day in Ottawa was on November 11th, so naturally it made sense to attend the Remembrance Day ceremonies.
I couldn't see much but they did have big screens set up and Hadley was very patient through the whole thing. :) Easton slept. :)
After a nice lunch with Andrew and John (some of Brian's colleagues) we drove back home.
Just to add to our week, I heard my first Christmas carol today while shopping and then tonight was the Santa Claus Parade. Hadley loved watching the floats all decorated and lit up in the night. She was also thrilled to receive things from walkers that passed by.
Easton slept through most of the parade but was very cute in his little snowsuit.
A tiring but lovely week. :)
