40 wks LMP (38 wks gestation)
The baby weighs approximately 7.63 lbs or 3462 grams and is 20.16 inches or 51.2 cm long.
The umbilical cord is approximately 20 inches long and will support the baby through birth until the lungs take over.
It has been quite a week. On Thursday my stomach went very hard for some reason so I went in for a visit with the midwives to just be sure. They did a non stress test and it showed the baby had a few blips of an unusual heart rate. So just to be sure we faxed in a requisition to do an ultrasound in Toronto on Saturday as they were apparently the only ones in the area open on Saturday. However, they were not open. So we went to Ajax hospital with Lisa (our backup midwife) and did another non stress test. This time everything was fine. The hardness was gone and the baby looked good.
With just a little more precaution, on Monday we went for an ultrasound anyway and everything was good. A score of 8/8 - Perfect. We got a new photo also.
What a crazy weekend.
Today we did another non stress test at our weekly appointment, it showed the same blips so we went to Centenary Hospital in Scarborough for a consult with an OB, and all was good.
Today is the due date. Now we wait.
