Father's Day

2010-06-21 00:18:02 • by Leanne Verkley

Today was a very full day.
First thing in the morning Hadley presented Brian with a card that she made.  She was proud of it and Brian loved getting this hand made gift in bed.
Hadley woke Brian by saying: "daddy, daddy, it's daddy's day"!

By 10am, we were ready and on our way to Rotary Park for a pancake breakfast in the park.  It was busy, but we managed to find a table and enjoy breakfast by the lake.  Such a nice day for this.
There was also a waterfront festival for Ajax Home Week today, so we spent some time viewing the vendors goods, and watching Hadley on the jumping castles.  (SHE LOVED THIS).
Lunch was a picnic lunch in our backyard before heading out to the zoo for a few hours.
We spent some time at the splash pad, then took the zoomobile around the zoo.
Some time in here is when Hadley really understood that Father's day was the same as daddy's day.  :)
This was followed by Brian's choice of dinner out at McDonald's and some playtime for Hadley in the play place.
In the evening we walked down to Rotary Park again to watch the Ajax Home Week 40th Anniversary Fireworks.  Hadley was dancing to the music and saying "ka boom" to all the loud fireworks.  She also kept saying "more"!  So cute!
What a great day!
Happy Father's Day Brian!

Oh, at McDonald's Hadley got a Shrek watch with her meal.
She was so excited that she could tell time like mommy and daddy.
Her first watch. :)
