Blue Jays Home Opener 2010

Again this year we enjoyed the Blue Jays Home Opener.
On Monday night we met up with Brian's dad and sister at Yorkdale Subway station before we went downtown and had dinner at Jack Astors.  Tickets to the game were part of a Christmas gift for Brian's dad.
Roger's Centre was sold out, with 46 321 in attendance.  I love going to the home opener as it is the only game all year that sells out and feels like the glory days of the early 90's.
The game was against the Chicago While Sox.
With a close game there was an eventual loss of 8-7 to Chicago in 11 innings.
Hadley was a trooper and stayed up through the whole thing.  Minus literally 2 minutes at the end of the game.
I think the popcorn was a highlight for her.  Although playing games on her aunt Julie's iPhone and the shoulder ride on her grandpa's shoulders down front street were also pretty fun for her.
She was up until pretty much midnight and then slept in until 11 am this morning.    I wasn't sure how bedtime would go tonight but she fell asleep around 10:30 pm.  We will try to slowly bring her back to a normal bedtime over the next few days.
All in all, a fun night out.

I forgot to mention that the opening pre-game had a focus on Canada with the army coming out holding large flags, the RCMP had more flags, there was a school band, and many Olympians coming out with their medals.  Alex Bilodeau the first Canadian to win a gold medal on Canadian ground threw the first pitch.

Another fun thing to note is that Hadley started singing this song dee dee dee dee dee dee, over and over again while on her grandpas shoulders.
Now if you ask her to sing the grandpa song she repeats the same song.  Very cute.
