Mouse
Today we went for the first time to the OEYC in Whitby. They have a gym day on Fridays so we thought we would check it out. It is pretty much the same as the Ajax PlayDay Mondays only a little smaller. So that took up our morning.
The afternoon we spent a good amount of time on the computer. I thought it was time to introduce a mouse to Hadley.
For the first few minutes I thought "this is never going to work". The Mac mouse has only one click but a there is a scroll wheel that she couldn't keep her little fingers off of. Then I had an idea. I found a little circular ladybug sticker and put it exactly where she should push down and EUREKA! She got it! I told her that this was her VERY special button. She loved having her own special button. There is no going back now. She played for most of the afternoon on starfall.com and did a lot of the work herself navigating around. I did have to be there for the entire time because there are other things that she can click on that I wouldn't want her to go to, but it was fun to watch anyway. It was the perfect environment. She knows the ABC portion of starfall pretty much like the back of her hand and now there was a new FUN element to introduce.
I have never seen her giggle so much in one day. She had so much fun!
