Adventures to Bethlehem

Yesterday was a very busy day!
We started the day off with our regular music and movement class and it was followed by a new class for December called cool books at the Early Years Centre.  (The crafts for this were good but the person in charge was a little intense for the age of kids there).
She intended to read three LONG books but after she realized the attention span of the kids would not quite make it through the first book, she attempted to finish and then decided just to skip the last two books.  Still good fun.

Later in the evening we met up with Patti, Andy and Alicia and went to the Adventure to Bethlehem.  We did this last year and had a great time and thought we would share the experience with them this year.
Like last year, the church gym had been decorated to allow us to travel through time back to the markets of Bethlehem in the time of Jesus' life.  Hadley and Alicia held flashlights to guide us through the caves.  The scenes really came to life with actors and props although this year we went on opening night and it wasn't as rehearsed as I think it felt last year.  We had to pay taxes just like last year with a penny that they provided to us.  Hadley likes to be trusted with money;  So this was fun for her.  There were more animals this year to feed as last year they found the animals got too full and didn't want to eat when the kids came around.  I wish we had more time with the animals as Hadley loves feeding them and watching them and petting them.  There were sheep, goats and and a donkey.
For those in the area that are interested: admission is free (donations of food or money are welcome but not a focus) and it is being held for three days: December 3rd, 4th and 5th at 1 Stevensgate Drive at Rossland Road, between Westney and Church Street in Ajax.   905-619-3331.
