Grandview

Hadley had her re-evaluation this week at Grandview for her speech.
They had minimal concerns.  However they did give us some things to work on.  Primarily finishing words.
To work on this we are specifically targeting the sound of T and M.
For example we are doing games and worksheets that allow her to practice words like gum, yum, sweet, tweet, spot, boat.
Other things we are to emphasize are everyday normal words that end in T and M.
Hat, mitt, boot, hot, home, yum, mom, etc.
Salwa, the person who did the re-evaluation thinks that working on these things  will help her to understand that all words have finishing sounds.
Once we get clear T and M sounds with one word, we need to work on adding a word and keeping the end sounds.
Hadley does seem to keep the P sounds at the end of words but most other words she drops the end sounds.
While she is pretty much exactly where she should be for everything else, she is a few weeks to approx. one month behind others her age with word endings.
So in short, nothing to worry about, but something to work on.
