Santa Claus Parade

2009-11-15 08:21:48 • by Leanne Verkley

Last night we arrived at the Santa Claus Parade and found a spot on Harwood in the middle island with a great view.  Hadley and I enjoyed the view on our sports seats by the roadside while Brian stood behind.  Those seats sure do keep you warm when sitting on the ground!  Plus this meant no stroller to maneuver through the crowds.   (Good idea Brian).

We were soon joined by Andy, Patti and Alicia.
I think the girls felt our excitement as we pointed, waved, sang and cheered our Merry Christmas wishes to those in the the lit up floats.
I actually really like having the parade at night!
It was so much warmer this year but a little foggy. I would take that over the VERY cold weather from last year ANY DAY!  Although a little snow would have been okay.  :)

There were also a lot of candy canes to be received.  YUMMY!  You know what this means... candy cane ice-cream is on its way!  :)

Santa came to town with two real reindeer in front of his float as well as the pretend ones on his float.  I love that real reindeer were there.

After the parade we went to Patti, Andy and Alicia's to enjoy cupcakes and the girls played a little while.  While this made for a late night for the girls, I think they had a great time!

Ready or not Christmas is coming.  40 days...
