Yesterday Brian, Hadley and I went to the Ex to meet up with Shaye to watch Price Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall officially open this years Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.  Admission was free to Royal Spectators and fairgoers who wanted to welcome the famous couple at the grand opening ceremonies taking place in the Ricoh Coliseum.  The only stipulation was that you had to be there before 9:45am.  So that is what we did.  Otherwise it was $18 per adult.  With children under 4 free.  In case anyone was wondering about going.
While I didn't know if I would ever actually see a royal in person, it was on Shaye's list of things to do before she turns 30.  (November 27th).
It just so happened that she got an email about this happened last week and we were able to join her.  YAY!
I am happy to have had this experience!
After watching the official opening we were able to enjoy feeding the animals
(which Hadley LOVED)!  There were sheep, goats, llamas, and cows to feed.  She was a little timid at first until Brian and I fed them and then she was ALL OVER IT!
She kept telling the bigger animals "not you" and kept calling, LITTLE, LITTLE, where are you LITTLE"?  She only wanted to feed the little animals.  So cute.  There were also piglets that were only a few days old.  Again cute.
There was a kids area where we coloured, painted, lifted the flaps, played with a stuffed horse and got a new card game that Hadley loves.  Well, she loves the cards (Winnie the Pooh and the gang are on them).  The rules will come later.
After this we had lunch, and then wandered around to see the exhibits.
By 2pm Hadley was tired so she nodded off in her stroller while we looked at a few more booths.
We boarded the GO train at 3pm.  Hadley slept for almost 2 hours.
What a fun day!
