Halloween - Kids Safety Village, Mommy Group, the zoo and trick or treating

Last night we met up with Beth, Dave and Clara and we went to the kids safety village in Whitby. They decorated the little buildings that were small replicas of big stores and buildings.  The doors were about 5 feet with the first story windows at about 7 feet.  (We went there for Christmas one time).  http://ajax.verkley.com/blog/leanne/index.cgi?sid=482&user=
There was also a colouring station, music area, balloon animal station and more.  Plus Hadley received a loot bag on the way out.  A good start to our Halloween fun.

Then this morning we started out with a trip to Toys R Us.  They were celebrating their 25th anniversary and the first 100 customers got a gift card with a surprise value ranging between $5 and $50.
So after waiting in line for 3, maybe 5 minutes, we went in.  Then after receiving my card, I went back to get a cart to put Hadley in and when I came back through the doors, the guy gave me another card.  (Nice).
I checked the cards on the price check scanners and they were each for $10.  Sweet!  They are giving out more cards tomorrow.  We shall see how motivated I am.

Today in the morning we met up with the mommy group.  This has been an annual event to get the kids to play together, and get a group photo of them in their costumes.  This year we also did extra photos with the two new babies. This was a yummy potluck event.

In the afternoon Brian joined Patti, Alicia, Hadley and I and we went to the zoo.  This is also an annual event since Hadley was born.  However it is usually just Hadley and I and usually on a weekday.  But it was fun with more people.
It was a windy day but I think we got some great photos!

After this, Andy joined us at our house and we had pizza before the big trick-or-treating.
At 5:50pm, we thought this would be a good time to go out.  It turns out we went out early.  We were pretty much the only people out.  So we did a few houses with the girls together, then they went home, and we came home.  We handed out some candy and then Hadley and I went out again later to some more of our neighbours.  After Hadley got into the swing of things she kept saying "next door mommy, next door."  So cute.

Hadley also loved running to the door and handing out candy once she heard the bell ring.  She would run, shout "sombody's here, hurry"!
Between 7:00 and 7:30pm we had the most kids.  (I thought this to be late for a Saturday since the kids didn't have to wait for parents to get home from work.  Oh well).

At 8:00pm we turned off the lights after a respectable count of 58 kids.

What a busy 24 hours!
