Friday?
Leanne and I were just talking in the bathroom while Hadley was in the bath. Hadley, as she is starting to do often, repeated Leanne's words. Hadley said, "Next Week".
So I said, "Monday" and Hadley said, "Monday", and we clapped and cheered.
Leanne said "Tuesday", and Hadley said "Tuesday" and we clapped and cheered.
Leanne said "Wednesday", and Hadley said "Wednesday" and we clapped and cheered.
Leanne said "Thursday", and Hadley said "Thursday" and we clapped and cheered.
Hadley said "Friday", and we clapped and cheered, jaws on the floor.
Notice what happened there. We didn't say Friday first. Hadley did.
All of these words were new to her. I've never heard her say any days of the week. I'm still not sure she understood the concept. But she definitely said "Friday" before we did.
Kids, Patterns, English. Fascinating.
