Tundra

On Friday, Brian's sister Julie came over for a visit.  We decided to go to the Toronto Zoo to explore the new Tundra area.  http://www.torontozoo.com/tundratrek.asp

The main attraction was the polar bear exhibit that is five times bigger than the last one and now holds three polar bears.  It is magnificent.  They did such a great job on this area.  Of course there are also arctic wolves, arctic foxes, reindeer, snowy owls and geese.
I am excited for this new area to explore.  Plus I think it will be even more fun during the winter when the crowds are much smaller.  :)

We also decided to go in and explore "sharks at stingray bay".  There was an additional $3 per person charge but we were able to pet the stingrays.  Hadley even participated this year.  (Last year we didn't let her touch them due to possible allergies but this year we held her up to experience the fun.  She wasn't scared but it did take her by surprise the first time she touched one.

Another area that we went to was the orangutang upstairs viewing area.  This is not an area that we usually get to because we usually have our stroller but we ventured through the zoo for almost 5 hours without the stroller.  We did have to take turns a few times to carry Hadley.  However, Hadley had a favorite carrying buddy.  So a special thanks goes out to Julie!

We saw more of the zoo that we usually see but the above have special mentions for this particular visit.

It was a great day with beautiful weather.
Hadley went to bed easily and was still tired today.  It was a very quiet day today.  :)

Don't worry about the $3.  Glad you enjoyed your day!
