Mother's Day

2009-05-10 22:38:48 • by Leanne Verkley

Today started early but the celebration for Mother's Day began with me being presented with a painting with the word MOMMY spelt out in stickers on it.    The letters aren't exactly in order but all the letters are there.  :)
Then we all enjoyed a pancake brunch.  Mmmm.  Yum.
While I was getting some of the things ready for this brunch Hadley and Brian went outside.  When they came in I was presented with a beautiful bouquet of dandelions.  Hadley was so proud of her gift.  I loved it.  In fact I loved it so much that I asked her to pretend to present them to me again so I could video tape it.
Of course the first time was better but the second take on it was still SO CUTE.
Later we enjoyed a mini picnic by the hospital.  We did this so we could introduce peanuts to Hadley.  She loves peanuts!  We have wanted to do this for a while but really haven't had the time to do it.  So today when we were blessed with family time we decided it would be a good time.  If she did have a reaction we would be near the hospital and have an interesting Mother's Day story.  However, we are happy to report that there was no reaction; which is GREAT!
We spent some time running around the park area, up and down hills, picking dandelions and just enjoying time together.
Then we went and did some shopping.
Hadley was exhausted after this and fell asleep in the car.
So, this meant that Brian and I could have a date.  Even if it was just at home.
Brian BBQ'd a wonderful dinner for me including steak, potatoes, and shrimp and he placed it over a bed of spinach.
We thoroughly enjoyed this over a glass of red wine.
It was a beautiful day.

Note:  We took Hadley out of the car after she fell asleep on the way home and let her enjoy the comforts of her bed.  :)
