Adventures to Bethlehem

Last night Brian, Hadley and I went to Rossland Ridge Bible Chapel (www.rosslandridge.ca).

Their gym had been decorated to allow us to travel through time back to the markets of Bethlehem in the time of Jesus' life.  These scenes really came to life with actors and props.  We even had to pay taxes.  (Money was proviced to us).  There were two sheep (one with a black face and one with a white face), a Jacob sheep (the type of sheep likely to be around back then), a llama and a goat to feed and pet.
For those in the area that are interested: admission is free (donations of food or money are welcome but not a focus) and it is being held for three days: December 4th and 5th 6 - 9 pm.  December 6th 10am - 4pm.at 1 Stevensgate Drive at Rossland Road, between Westney and Church Street in Ajax.   905-619-3331.

If you have time, I would definitely recommend this as it will get you into the Christmas spirit.  They had something very similar to this in Listowel when I lived there.

I really enjoyed the animals.  You could feed and pet them over or through a small fence.  The sheep and goat would happily jump up on the fence if it thought you might have some corn to feed it.  Hadley was a bit frightened at first, but soon came to smile and call them over.  She didn't like their little nibbles, but they didn't scare her away either.

I'm always a bit sad that she doesn't get the contact to animals I did.  She'll never have a pet goat follow her around for the day.  I'm always happy though when she has a chance to interact with animals and she isn't afraid of them.  From dogs to cats to sheep and goats.

We had a good time in Bethlehem and I'm glad we went.
