Leap Frog - update
On Friday November 14th,
2008 over 800 people joined in
an amazing event at the Zoo
in an attempt to break the
Guinness World RecordTM for the MOST LEAP-FROGGERS!
It was a beautiful, sunny day (despite rain being forecasted earlier in the week) and our participants enjoyed animal visits from our reindeer and camels, entertainment by our buskers and musical act "Tribal Quest", free hot chocolate and free coffee supplied by Starbucks.
As found on the Toronto Zoo website:
The previous world record for most leap-froggers was set in 2006 in Germany, and was 1,197 leapers. The Zoo had over 800 people, so the record was not broken, but what an amazing turnout, and more importantly what amazing support for frog conservation and bringing this important conservation issue to the forefront!
CTV and 97.3 EZRock, sponsors for the event, were on site and kept the event "HOPPING" all day! Special thanks to Tom Brown for acting as our Emcee and keeping energy levels high as always! Thank you to all the sponsors that made this event such a huge success!
