The week in review... in no particular order because I am tired. The end.
1. Hadley now knows where her knees are. This is helpful in the song head and shoulders, knees and toes. However, we still are working on finding her shoulders. Which I knew would be more difficult than the rest of the body parts as it is the only one that is more than one syllable.
2. With Hadley's ever famous "YA", she is getting more and more frustrated that we don't know what she means. She has such expression but we don't always understand her. So today more than once she took my hand and showed me what she wanted. I think this made her feel better that she could show me even though she couldn't tell me what it was she was trying to tell me.
3. October first I renewed my Toronto Zoo yearly membership and it has already paid itself off. I still have the temp card and I have been there four times already.
Admittedly, I went one time this week and just took the zoomobile because I found out that it would be stopping for the winter after the Thanksgiving weekend. I usually take this once or twice a year. Mostly to find out what is going on at the zoo. (It is quite an informative ride). I learned that once the new Tundra section is built, the ever famous LONG walk back to the Canadian section will be closed with no animals using that area. (This is probably a good thing as I only went back there out of guilt because it is such a far walk for not much viewing pleasure. However, I do plan to walk back there at least once more before they close it).
Today we ventured to the Americas to see the flamingos among other animals. From here you can get a good look at the construction for the new Tundra section.
4. Hadley and I went to the new Early Years Centre in Ajax for the first time this week. It was closed for moving for almost a month so we really haven't been in such a long time. The new space is MUCH smaller, but I think it will still provide a great space to have some free fun. PLUS, Hadley can get dirty here and all I have to do is clean her up, not my whole house.
This week was a transportation focus.
5. Books for babies is back at the Library and it seems better than ever. Lots of songs and books. Hannah, Audrey and Hadley are all there this time, and they have lots of hand outs of the songs to take home and have fun with.
6. Potty training. HMPH. Well, it had a good start and then life happened. What I have learned: Potty training is actually code for train the parent to put child on toilet every half hour and never leave the house until they get the idea of it.
We continue to try for the most part but when we leave the house it is just WAY easier to put Hadley in diapers for now. However, I am hopeful that with Hadley's new leading ways (see point 2) we may be onto something new to try after the long weekend.
7. Mom's Thanksgiving weekend.
Last weekend we celebrated with each of our moms enjoying the company of my extended family on my mom's side and when we got together with Brian's side we had both of his sisters and mom's company to enjoy. Alongside the great food!
8. Last weekend I also hosted with my cousin Natasha's help, a shower for my sister. I think it was quite successful. The catering was amazing and I think Jayden received some great stuff.
9. I finally got my sewing machine out and fixed a few things that had been lingering for a long time. I feel great about that as these things were just sitting on the floor bothering me.
10. I had a scrapbooking night this week with Marsha, Ley and Melissa. I feel great about the progress I made. It was only two pages but that is two more pages done that I didn't have done before.
11. I know know why I am tired. See points 1-10. Then add laundry, dishes, and any other other house cleaning that I can fit in.
12. Brian and I smile all the time. This little girl in our lives just makes us happy. She has the best nose to nose open mouth kisses. She has the cutest little voice, she is so interesting to watch as she learns, she has the best facial expressions and most of all it is just plain fun to watch her spread her love.
