Potty Training
Yesterday was day one of wearing underwear for Hadley.
We officially started potty training. She is what I would consider young for potty training but she seems ready. So, no more onesies. She will be in big girl shirts now. hmph. She is growing up so fast.
I am very proud of her.
One and a half hours in and we already had pee and poop in the toilet.
The rest of the day didn't go as smoothly but Hadley has most definitely connected what it means to have dirty underwear.
Within the last week she stared using size 4 diapers, she stared using the word Die-ya to let us know that she had a dirty diaper and she also started pushing the step stool up to the toilet and sitting on the potty seat insert with her clothes on.
So yesterday when I knew we would be home for three consistent days in a row (I know, rare for us), I thought we would give it a try as she seemed really interested!
The morning was a lot more successful than the afternoon but still a success nonetheless with all her effort.
A few times just after sitting on the toilet and reading her book we put Hadley's underwear back on and seconds later she would pee. I think she sometimes thinks that she is supposed to have a diaper on for peeing.
Although first thing this morning after waking up I took her to the washroom and she had a successful pee on the toilet. YAY!
So after day two I am feeling good about this endeavor and hope tomorrow has even more success stories.
Today while out shopping Brian bought smarties as a reward for each success. We will try that tomorrow.
