Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail

Yesterday we went to Rotary Park with our friends the Jackson's. (Brian, Theresa, and their three boys: Owen, Andrew and Curtis).
We met up with them after Brian's mom got to our house just after lunch.
We spent a good amount of time at the splashpad and then some more time at the park.  The kids had a great time!
Throughout the afternoon conversation the topic of Brian, Hadley and I wanting to walk the waterfront trail to Toronto one day came up.
I am not sure exactly how it was decided but basically I was asked yesterday if today would be okay to take on such adventure, and since I had nothing else going on...I said, why not!

We packed a lunch and snacks as well as all the gear for weather and rest stops and headed out this morning at about 7:30 am from our front door.

Brian looked up some maps and information and found out that the trip to Toronto would be approx. 30 KM.  See more info at:

I felt great on the walk.  It was a perfect day with a nice breeze and good company.  We had lovely breaks by the beach, at playgrounds, and at the marina's along the way.

17.06 KM  later we arrived at Rouge Hill Go station. This is where we called it a day.  Not quite all the way to Toronto as we had originally planned but we made it over half way.  We took the GO train back arriving home just after 4pm.
We walked from Ajax to Scarborough.  That is quite a feat.  I am proud of this.  However, I would really like to finish the walk down into Toronto someday but that is an adventure for another time.
