Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail

Mom is down visiting and yesterday while at Rotary Park we were looking at the waterfront trail that runs along the lake in Ajax.  There was a sign post there that showed the route and I mentioned that I'd like to walk it all the way to Toronto.  Mom said, "I'd love to do that."  So I said great, let's do it tomorrow.

We checked the maps, packed the lunch, and set an early alarm.  At around 7:30am in the early morning light, the four of us left our front door heading for the big city.  We figured the whole way would be about 30km, so we'll see how our knees and feet hold up.

Well, 17.06km later we were at Rouge Hill Go station, and we called it a day.  Not nearly all the way to Toronto as the crow flies, but a 17km walk was a nice outing.

Along the way we played on children's playgrounds, sauntered through marina's, watched the boats sail by, and enjoyed some cool grass in the warm sun.  All in all, it was a wonderful day.

Mom and I have sore knees and feet, but Leanne and Hadley seem no worse for wear.

Perhaps someday we'll pick up where we left off and make it to the CN Tower.

sounds like an awesome walk, just wondering how the cool grass tasted, ahah sounded like it was a cold glass of something.

hahah, no, just water on our trip.  we saved the cold beer for when we got home.  my did that go down easy as we soaked our feet in Hadley's pool.
