Today Hadley and I ventured to Whittamores Farm.

To note: I seriously thought about picking my own strawberries and even drove all the way to the spot near the back of the farm to park my car but decided against it after I saw the rain clouds.
It would be one thing to try to tackle picking strawberries on my own with a 15 month old, but a whole other thing to do it in the pouring rain.
So, we headed to the market onsite and bought a flat of beautiful strawberries, a few good stocks of rhubarb, and some sweet peas.
We had free passes to get into the fun park but decided against it due to weather. (The passes are good until the fall, so maybe we will go back when something else is in season other than strawberries.  Who knows?)
When we got home I took all the stems off the strawberries and Brian and I watched as Hadley enjoyed herself in the wonderment of Ontario Strawberries.
She has had strawberries before and didn't really like them, but these....WELL, let's just say she loved them!
Anyway, after she was finished she needed a bath before I could tackle my jam.
I made a small batch of 6 little freezer containers for Brian and I, then I made two strawberry rhubarb pies, I froze a huge bag for future use and left the rest for eating fresh on icecream (which we did tonight).  Perhaps we will have some on our cereal in the morning?
Overall, I think it was a successful day!
