Christmas

2005-11-27 22:36:08 • by Brian Verkley

We are getting close to christmas, and it is time to publish my list.

indoor/outdoor thermometer. ours died (unless it really was 73C outside today...  for an extra bonus, you could splurge for a "weather station" that has barometric pressure and such.  for extra extra bonus points you could get one that recieves a satellite forecast, or hooks up wirelessly to the pc for forecast or historical weather recording

universal _touchscreen_ remote control.  we have three remotes now, and i'd love to reduce that to one.  they range from about $50 to $250 from best buy.    i'd love one that is programable enough to turn all the devices on at one touch of a button

logitech gamepad rumblepad 2 - non cordless.  futureshop has it on crazy sale right now. i'd buy it if is wasn't so close to christmas.  i'd be great for NHL06

new air popcorn maker.  The last one worked great ! but now it overheats after one scoop of popcorn, and i like to make three at a time.

...
well, that is it for now... i'll add more as i think about it.

So is it just me, or is there no pictures of you with a beard on this site, you keep talking about it, but for those of us who live far away, we would like to see it.
About the Christmas list... do i have to inform  Leanne what I am getting you so you don't get 5 of the same thing,I wouldn't want you to have 5 remotes that cost $250 each.

we haven't taken any pictures of the beard yet.  maybe tomorrow.

as for telling leanne, if you like.  i wouldn't mind 5 $250 remotes though, as long as they came with gift reciepts :-)

THREE scoops?

two additions, one subtraction.

i "fixed" the thermometer.  who knew when the battery was low it would give wierd temps rather than just shut off.  odd.  anyway, i would still enjoy one of those fancy ones, if you already bought it :-)

and i would also like:  a lens-pen.  it is a pen shapped object that contains a soft brush for wiping dust off of camera lenses.  We used Cecilia's in Africa and I almost bought one after that, 'cept i remembered it is soo close to christmas :-)

self leveling laser level with stud finder.  not sure if one exists with all of those features, but if so i covet it.  we hung a new shelf yesterday (built by us of course) for the speakers, and it would have come in handy.  don't worry, you can't tell it isn't level...

oh, and Lisa, yes. three.  two for me and one for leanne, all mixed in with spray on butter (surprisingly good) and yummy sea salt.  how can you watch a home movie without popcorn?

one more addition

google earth plus.  it is google earth, but i can import the gps data and print pretty pictures.  I just about bought it today, but then i thought about christmas.  It is $20 (USD i suspect) but you can't buy the software for me as it is an upgrade key, so cash in a card is nice enough.

Spray on butter?
by Brian Verkley • 2005-12-04 12:35:12
yes, i was skeptical at first as well.  it is actually Becel.  0 calories it says. I think it is made for cooked vegetables and spraying in pans, but i think it is perfect for popcorn.  Try it.
