Michelle's 30th Birthday ... dad dad dad dad
On Friday Brian's sister Julie came over and decided to join us in our fun night out. It was my friend Michelle's 30th birthday (a friend from Georgian College).
We started the night out at the Outback restaurant where I was also privileged enough to catch up with another old friend from school; Sarah.
The food was fantastic, (I had steak and of course the bloomin' onion to share at the table) and we even enjoyed some cupcakes that had icing, icing and more icing.
From there we headed to Woodbine Racetrack to try our luck and bet on the horse races. http://www.woodbineentertainment.com/qct/default.asp
We learned how to bet and stayed for three races. Julie won three for three!
I learned that night that Michelle and I had been there before TOGETHER, and we didn't even know it.
We both worked with an inventory management company called Resolve and they brought their clients there each year as an appreciation event. The event was so big that we didn't even know each other was there though.
I had forgotten how to bet since it had been about two years since I was last there for work and they only gave us one free two dollar bet to play with.
Anyway it was a great night but all of this still doesn't top the highlight...
Are you ready for it?
Hadley started to say Dad Dad Dad.
She was making ddd sounds and mmm sounds before so the race was on for which word she would say first. Dad or Mom? Either way we were going to be proud of her first word.
That night she seemed to just be saying dad dad dad randomly, but now she seems to be able to copy it from us most times.
I think she is on her way to understanding that by saying dad, it actually refers to someone specific.

I think three visits to the zoo in one week is the most I have ever done.
I am a little zood out.
Maybe I will skip it for this week. :)
