More defined
Hadley's wave has been a work in progress.
It started as an entire arm lift, and then she realized that she needed some wrist action. Now, she is using fingers to define her little wave. It is the cutest thing.
While a few weeks ago standing was a distracted wobble that we instituted, http://ajax.verkley.com/blog/leanne/index.cgi?sid=311&user= it is now still a distracted wobble, but she seems to be doing it on her own. She usually starts at a table playing with the toys on it and when both hands get occupied she stands... until she realizes that she is doing it.
She is also now holding onto small tables with one hand, using the other hand to reach down to the floor to get a toy that is of interest to her. This usually results in sitting on the floor but she tries to remain standing if she can. She is reaching while standing to go from one object to the next. Sometimes this results in a fall but if the objects are close enough she makes the transfer all on her own and continues to play.
Going from a sitting position to a standing position while at an object is very easy for her now.
Her play is also more defined as she now tries to do things with her toys. She rattles her rattles, pushes buttons to get music started, takes her mega bloks apart after Brian and I have built our masterpieces.
While at her zoo house block, she moves the objects and walks completely around it. http://ajax.verkley.com/blog/leanne/index.cgi?sid=281&user=
She plays at this block for long periods of time!
Reading to Hadley is also getting easier. She now pays a lot more attention and even tries to turn the pages slowly when I hold them for her to grab at. Although this will be a work in progress for a while to get pages turning at the right time and full attention, it is MUCH better than when we first started reading. Believe me!
I am sure there is more definition that I missed writing about so if things come up I will post them later.
Time to go play!
