A day in the life

Yesterday, Hadley and I left a little early for Babyville so that we could go to the library to sign up for the up-coming Bouncing Babies which start in February.
We have been trying to get into the program for many months over the phone but always get the same result.  We are full.
To this I always reply...but it is only 10:01am and registration started at 10am!
So this time we were standing outside the library at 5 minutes to 10 and we were second in line.  This program really is popular.  There were quite a few people waiting.
I guess it is because it is $60 to do at the rec centre and free at the library as it is government sponsored.
Anyway, we got in.
This little adventure made us a few minutes late for Babyville but everyone seemed to understand our tardiness as it kind of comes with the territory of having a baby.  There was actually one person who arrived after me.
The topic this week was whether or not the one year old needles are associated with autism.  With the health nurse on hand, we discussed our concerns, looked at pamphlets and came up with the conclusion that there was no concrete connection.  I had already concluded this with my own research but it was nice to have this reaffirmed.
The other topic was breaking the bond and I use this loosely.
All of us have worked so hard to create this mom and baby bond and now some have to leave for work in only a few months.  So they are trying to work on detaching for a few hours at a time to get used to the idea of being away for up to 10 hours of the day if you include commuting.
I am so glad I don't have to go through that yet.  I am not ready for that.

Later in the day Brian was telling me about his day and I kind of missed the challenge of a days work in the office.
Still, I am glad to be able to be at home.

The night went on and Brian and I decided to finish the third part of our movie weekend.  We were able to tackle the first two movies of Lord of the Rings over the weekend and just had one to go.  We watched the first disc of the last movie only to stop to attend to Hadley who fell and hit her nose.  There was just a tiny bit of blood in her nose but it wasn't gooshing and stopped quickly.
She tries so hard to get around and reaches for objects to help her that are just out of reach and then leans in hopes she will catch herself on the other object.  I was literally right beside her and just missed catching her.
Let's just say that after this, I didn't really feel like watching the rest of the movie. (Maybe tomorrow night).

The rest of the night was spent comforting our little girl until she went to bed.  She usually gets up about four hours after she goes to bed for food, but I set an alarm for that time just in case she slept longer as I thought it would be good to check on her, but she woke up two minutes before my alarm with her normal cry for food.  She was awake only a few minutes and then back to sleep.
She did however, wake up every two hours after this, which was abnormal for her.
I didn't mind though as it gave me an excuse to keep checking on her.

It is almost 9:30am and I hear her stirring on the monitor.
More computing later!

Hadley is now slightly bruised on the bridge of her nose between her eyes.  Already a bloody nose and she isn't even a year old.  However, she did make it 10 months before unintentionally bleeding.  I suppose if she only bleeds once every 10 months that is ok.  Heck, I wish I would go 10 months in between cuts and scrapes.
