A Wedding and Christmas
The last few days have been completely crazy.
Friday we headed to Atwood to help out Brian's sister Lisa and her now husband Jeff prepare for their wedding which was held on Saturday.
From dress to serviettes, it was a beautiful event and we enjoyed much food, conversation and even dancing.
Brian took on the MC role and did a fantastic job as usual. Hadley, Brian and I were shown much love from those we had a chance to catch up with.
Hadley was the perfect size to wear a hand made dress that Brian's grandma Gezina made for Lisa and Julie when they were babies. I think many appreciated the timeless beauty this little dress brought to the day.
After the celebration we helped to get the Bride and Groom organized before we headed out to Brian's uncle Paul's house for some after wedding fun.
Sunday we were still on the go with a few gift exchanging, and wedding present opening at Brian's mom's before the bride and groom left. Then we headed over to my dad's for a full afternoon/evening of Christmas with my family.
Yesterday we were actually at home but there was never a dull moment. From shopping, baking, wrapping, cleaning, crafting and playing with Hadley I was exhausted by the end of the day. But even after all this excitement we started the PJ's on Christmas Eve tradition and she looked so cute in her new attire so of course we took a few photos. Then it was TIME FOR BED.
Today was Hadley's first Christmas! It was so much fun to watch her open and explore wrapped gifts.
Hadley and I both have come down with a cold but it was still fun to open stockings, eat our bacon and eggs...okay Hadley had rice krispies, and then open our gifts.
Just after we got the turkey in the oven, Brian's mom and sister Julie arrived and we exchanged more gifts.
We were spoiled again this year! All of us!
After dinner we broke out the Wii that I got from my dad and we played for a while but I really didn't feel well, so we didn't play for long. But don't worry there will be a lot of hours spent on this little machine!
To note: Hadley still isn't feeling well and didn't nap at all today. She finally went to bed around 10:30pm. I am Wiped Out!
But before going to bed I wanted to take a few minutes to document the last few days and to note that as tradition in past years we sent out the annual email that began in 1994. If you want to read it, it is also posted on Brian's blog. http://ajax.verkley.com/blog/brian
Merry Christmas Everyone!
