Toronto
Yesterday Hadley and I spent the day in Toronto.
We started with a short visit to GGOF. It turns out that the marketing department is moving this Friday to First Canadian Place from BCE Place. This is something that has been in the works for some time now but it kept being put off.
After catching up with as many people as I had time for, we met up with my brother and his friends for lunch. They were down for their annual Blue Jays outing. We went to Shopsy's as it has become a tradition now. Then headed to the Bier Market on the Esplanade as a trip around the world in beer was on their agenda. I enjoyed a cola under the shade of an umbrella while watching Hadley. The others however, tasted beer from Austria, Belgium, Canada, and others. Although this place was a bit expensive there was a vast array of beer to be tried and the atmosphere was pretty good.
After this I met up with my friend Lindsay to get caught up on how her trip to Europe was. Which she said was awesome. Later we joined up with her husband Jamie who concurred.
On the drive home Hadley was crying for some unknown reason. I had just fed and changed her. So I stopped and took her out of the car seat as this was quite unusual for her to be so hysterical. She instantly was calm. So then I held her for a bit, and put her back in the car seat turned on the car and drove to the next exit only to stop again because she was really not happy.
I had no idea what was going on but I held her for a little bit and then when I saw that her eyes were getting tired I put her in the car seat again and we were on our way. As I went from the DVP to the 401 I found that I just couldn't get over fast enough to get onto the express which was also NOT normal. So I decided that I would just enjoy a leisurely drive home in the collector lanes.
When I came to the Brimley exit I saw a large truck on fire in the express and traffic not going anywhere. I was so blessed to not make it into the express. Who knows how long it would have been until I made it home. If it weren't for Hadley I probably would have been in that mess for a LONG while.
I later found out that they managed to pull the driver out alive which is also a blessing. Wow, what a weird drive home.
It was a long day.
