Mothers Day
This weekend marked my first Mothers Day.
I feel proud to be a mom. From Hadley I got flowers and a kit to make her hand and foot prints on, which we did last night. (So cute)! We got take out pizza from Pizza Hut, and Brian splurged for a Dairy Queen Treatza Pizza to celebrate the event.
To back up and let you know about my weekend...
Saturday began on a little bit of a sad note. My grandfather passed away this winter but they had to wait until spring for the burial. So that was in the morning. This was followed by a bbq at my dad's brothers house.
After that we headed to my grandma's house for a visit as I haven't seen her in approx.3 months and she hadn't met Hadley yet. That was nice, and we even got a photo of the four generations together.
Then for 4pm we headed to my friend Meghan's baby shower. I am so excited for her. I can't wait to hear about her becoming a new mom. She was positively glowing. But ready to have the baby. Her due date is May 21st so it is really any day now. At 6:30pm I thought about leaving but found out that Brian's uncle Paul was coming to their house for a visit, so Hadley and I stayed as she hadn't had the opportunity to meet Paul yet. We got fresh stories from his recent adventures in Ireland, but by 8:45pm we really needed to head home as it had been an incredibly long day!
Sunday, I received good news that my cousin Natasha is pregnant again. What a great day to find out the news!
Later, Brian and I met up with Mandy, Joe and Jason and had a much needed shopping day at Yorkdale mall. Shopping is quite a different experience with a baby, but I think it worked out quite well and it was nice to spend the day with family on my first Mothers Day.
