This month Easton has been practicing for track and field and was selected to compete at PineRidge Highschool for Durham Track 1 Series. for 100m, 400m and 4X100m.
He achieved his personal best for the 100m.  0:13.76!   He realized that the 400m is not his favourite but ran at 1:04.72 and his team did well for the 4x100 at 0:53.98.

On a sad note, Brian's uncle Bernie (his moms brother) passed away and while it happened a few weeks ago, the organization for the celebration of life was April 5th, and was at the school where he was a custodian.  It seemed fitting.  We spent some time going through photo albums and visiting with family.  His daughter who arranged everything even though she lives in British Columbia was our flower girl.  We haven't seen him in a long while but I remember he always said our wedding was his absolute favourite.  Probably because his daughter was part of it, but also, I think he liked the outdoor event and the food.

Brian and I went on a date to watch Shaye in her Anne of Green Gables musical.  It was nice to spend the time together, the musical was well done, the kids stayed home, and we were able to enjoy dinner out with Shaye afterwards.

There was a rivalry week at the kids school with the catholic school that is attached to their school.  So both kids got spirit shirts to support their school and were able to get out of class three times in one week to watch basketball, volleyball and soccer.  We won basketball and volleyball.

I started a line dancing class once a week with Marsha and Melissa.  It gives us an excuse to get some exercise and hang out.

Post secondary open houses are happening and now that Hadley has decided where she is going, we took advantage of walking around the campus and residences.

Easton had his year end party for Select Hockey.  It included a dad vs kids hockey game, which both Brian and Easton took very seriously in a fun way.  The dad's won!  This was followed by a pizza and cake party in Oshawa.

We went to see the Minecraft Movie.  It is rare for us to go to the movie theatre but the kids had gift cards from my sister from Christmas, so they wanted to use them for this movie.  It was fun since we play Minecraft together regularly.

We celebrated Brian's sister Julie's birthday, Hadley's birthday and Easter with Brunch in Kitchener, and then we also had dinner with my dad and sister's family in Listowel.

Our friend Delena last Christmas was asking for projects to crochet throughout the year, so I commissioned a blanket for our great room. After approximately 120 hours it was finally ready.  It is so lovely and matches so well!  We picked it up while in Listowel and managed to watch a Leafs playoff game with the Benders before heading home.  The Leafs won!

Hadley and I went looking for her grad dress and found the most lovely dress that will have her looking so beautiful for her big day!  She was so happy with it!  It was really fun to spend the day with her for this big event!

Now that Hadley is 18, she was able to vote for the first time!  This was a big election.  I was so proud of her watching the debate, doing a questionnaire to find where her values aligned and then going out and using her right to vote!

April has been a busy one.
