Easton's 14th Birthday

Easton is off to a good start with highschool.  He has joined the band, been selected as the alternate player for select hockey as well as playing his regular house league.  Guitar lessons are in full swing and he just got the information about lunch time intramurals that he hopes to try.  His grades are also off to a good start.
For his birthday this year we had his friends over for the weekend for a LAN party and his birthday dinner was at Red Lobster.  He ordered the steak and lobster tail meal and fully enjoyed the cheese bread that came with it.  He is more open to new foods lately and he really wanted to try Red Lobster.
He often says that he doesn't really need anything so we have to pay careful attention to things that would make him happy.  Among other gifts like McDonalds gift cards, and a new cooling pillow, I think he was quite happy to receive the Dungeons and Dragons player's handbook.
We also celebrated with a Thanksgiving/Birthday dinner for him and Selinah.  We put a 1 and a 4 on the pumpkin pie.  14 for Easton and 1+4 = 5 for Selinah.
It was special to be able to have this meal on plates that were handed down to us from Brian's mom, who got them from her mom.  The turkey, stuffing and all the fixings were delicious too of course.  Plus Shaye came a few days later to take him out for dinner as well at Chuck's Roadhouse.
The scale this year says 130 lbs up from 109 last year.  But he is still a size small but getting closer to a medium.  He is now 5'10" up from 5'7" last year.
Shoe size 10.  He sings in the shower, and is generally just a happy person.  He still wants the occasional sleep over with his mom, which means he really just wants to talk and cuddle, which I love, and I am taking it all in as the years are going by so quickly.   I am so proud of who he is becoming.
