Anime North
For Hadley's birthday this year we got her tickets to Anime North, but it wasn't until May 25th. It is a fan-run convention held every year in Toronto. She was so excited. She wasn't sure if she wanted to invest in a costume, or just wear a period dress that she had from Halloween past, which in the end is what she did. The first thing that happened inside was that she ran into someone wearing the exact same thing as her just in a different colour. She was already happy and we had just arrived. We spent some time in a retro section where Brian got a top score on the Duck Hunt game, we wandered around a very large market that catered to the crowd. This actually took hours but Hadley was so interested in what was on display. We had lunch with thousands around us. It was so busy but the people were all kind. Hadley was excited to see things from Genshin Impact, a game that she has spent much time playing. The fan costumes were fantastic! We wandered around and took in some fan run talks that Hadley had picked out. One about cats, another about the history of D&D. It was a full day but I think this birthday gift was a win for her!
