Hadley's Birthday
For Hadley's birthday she went out with Tori (a friend she knows from school) to D spot dessert cafe. She went for a small gathering this year but it totally suited her. She was so happy with how she celebrated. Fancy drinks: Banango Milkshake, and Strawberry, banana crepe. Plus a few friends from school got her gifts which also made her feel special.
Things about Hadley, she still likes to get up early, like 7:30am and have time to herself before school. This suits the cats just fine as she is the one that feeds them. She goes to bed usually around 11pm but sometimes as late as midnight. She still does volunteer work for the library teen advisory council. (TAC). This is where they decide what the teens might like the library to offer, she also helps with their podcasts. She still loves editing and is taking a co-op to acquire experience to see if this is where her future is headed. She and Tori work together at this co-op and ride the city bus back to school together after working the morning together. I drop her off as this works better. But her using the city bus feels so grown up. She isn't interested in getting her licence, so having her confident with public transit is a great skill. Her grades are fantastic and she is thankful for a lighter semester. She can still procrastinate with the best of them if she doesn't want to do something. She is the same height as last year, 5'3". Same as me with the same size shoes as me, size 8. She still wears women's small clothing and her favourite food is steak which she almost always orders when we are at a restaurant. Which she had at The Keg when we went out for dinner on her actual birthday as a family. We made a spring flower cake to eat at home. Which she loved. She loves those hard flower edible decorations. I can't believe she is 17. I was 17 when I met Brian. Crazy!
