Easton's 13th birthday

We are well into the school year now, Easton's grade 8 year is off to a great start with him making the volleyball team, the cross country team, he has hockey on the go, as well as swimming lessons and guitar lessons.  He just told me that on Friday he will be trying out for the cricket team as well.
For his birthday this year he wanted to get together with Todd's family to do an escape room.  So, after some research we found one at Bingemans in Kitchener (sort of half way between us).
With only a 19% chance of success, the shafted escape room was going to be challenging for sure.  However, with 8 minds working together to solve the puzzles, we came out with a win and 14 minutes to spare.  From challenging elevators, to dirty gravel in the mine shaft, we unlocked chests and solved puzzles until we completed the task!  Success!
It was thrilling and fun and we worked really well as a team.  After this we went for dinner at Boston Pizza, and this was followed by two games of bowling at Kingpin.
The smiles from the day were amazing.  Only one last request on the day of his actual birthday.  Dinner at the Keg for a perfect steak meal.
Among other gifts, I think he was surprised to receive his first ever swiss army knife, which he had been talking about in the summer.
I made him a rocket league cake which is based on a game that he plays online with his friends.
The doctor's report,113 lbs up from 94 last year.  He is now 5 feet 7 inches up from 5 feet 3 inches from last year.
I now have two teenagers in the house.
