Terry Fox, Cross Country, Thanksgiving
This year I was able to join Easton at his school for their Terry Fox run. He ran 23 laps while I walked 14. I spent the time enjoying the fresh air getting my steps in and trying to connect with a lot of kids that were little the last time I was at the school, but now are big. Lots of times I knew the kids, but their names escaped me, but also... the school population has basically doubled and there are a lot of new kids as well. Easton would touch base with me every lap. It was refreshing to be back at the school but also very different than it was before. I felt like I was new to the school but yet, I have experience. It was an odd feeling.
Easton also has been practicing for cross country, and this year the meet was at a different location at Skyloft Ski Resort just north of town. The trees were beautiful, and Easton says the run was full of hills but a lovely run in the woods. I kind of wish there was a trail camera as we only saw them start and finish, but otherwise it was a lovely day outdoors.
Thanksgiving was a busy weekend. We had Brian's sister Julie and her kids as well as Brian's mom and his aunt Cecilia over for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and all the things that make Thanksgiving enjoyable. Then we had lunch at Brian's dads on a different day and dinner at my dads with my sister and her family.
I am thankful for all these things.
