Girls in Toronto
Last week Shaye and I spent the day together celebrating 30 years of friendship. Which actually is marked in August but we used the F.R.I.E.N.D.S experience from the TV show in the 90's to commemorate it. They had the TV sets all done up so that you could take photos in each set. It was well done. There were museum type pieces with original scripts, and at each station there was a photographer and a spot to place your purse and mask. Distancing for Covid was well done.
It was so nice to have this day out. The last two years have been long.
That night we went downtown Toronto and got a waterfront reservation at the Amsterdam Brewhouse. It was a lovely table. I almost couldn't believe it.
So nice to dine outside with a view of the lake right in front of us.
Then we cashed in on some of Brian's travel points and stayed at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel. Fully enjoying all that it had to offer with rooftop conversations going into the night and complimentary breakfast. I felt so spoiled.
We spent the day wandering around including taking a photo at the CBC building with the Mr. Dressup Tree, and then we headed to Centre Island where we wandered around chatting the day away in the sunshine while enjoying some ice cream.
Later that day Brian was able to extend my stay and while Shaye had to go home, Lindsay and Stacey joined me in the city for dinner, and rooftop drinks followed by a sleepover that had conversations that went well into the night. While the girls are way more comfortable than I am without a mask, I wore it when I felt necessary and it surprisingly just felt normal.
It was so nice to see some friends and do girlfriend things in the city.
I am thankful.
