Another midwife appointment
Last night we had another midwife appointment with Jenni our primary midwife. Everything was normal. Blood pressure 92 over 52. Protein and calcium levels were good. Stomach size 33.5 cm, I am now 34 wks LMP (32 wks gestation). So again, normal. The Baby weighs 4.73 pounds or 2146 grams and is 17.72 inches or 45 cm long. (According to pregnancy.org)
One thing that was different at this appointment was that we tested my iron levels. This required a needle. Well, actually they tried to take my blood three times because the first two times I didn't bleed at all. (Small shy veins, I guess). The third time they did manage to get some blood but they could only fill half a tube. I knew drawing my blood was hard but I have never not bled at all before. Three times a charm I guess. I will get these results at my next appointment unless something seems out of sorts.
This week the baby is apparently developing definite sleep patterns. I am very lucky that once I am sleeping I am not awakened in the middle of the night. Brian says he sometimes sees my stomach moving while I sleep though. I feel the baby move a lot during the day so hopefully the baby is awake mostly during the day.
Around now apparently my antibodies to disease begin flowing rapidly to the baby through the placenta. I should have good antibodies as I was immunized last year for just about everything for our Africa trip.
This week I have noticed that my walking pace has slowed down to a crawl! hrumph. Oh well. I just need to make sure that I allow more time to get where I am going.
I did manage to get to the gym twice this week, but it is getting much more difficult. I only have ten days left until my membership is put on hold, so I will try to go as much as I can next week.
I notice that I am more hungry these days. I am trying to keep my diet balanced but sometimes McDonalds just slips in there. :)
In the next few weeks I really should try to document some things at work for the people that will be taking on my responsibilities. Hmmm, sounds like a lot of work to document 6 years worth of stuff that I have accomplished. I think I should have some of it done though from our Africa trip last year when they had to tackle my job for three weeks. Hmmmm, I will have to look for that.
As for Ground Hogs day, it seems that Phil and Willie agree that spring will be just around the corner!
Make it a great day!
