Brian and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in the backyard on the 12th after we had wood delivered to the house to build a swing set.  The wood is now all laid out and a few parts are attached but the actual lifting up will likely happen next weekend for Father's day.  :)   It is a lot of work and the beams are heavy!
Today was our last Radiation trip to Kitchener.  Brian's mom hit the bong in the lobby to signify the end of her cancer treatment journey.  We cried and I took photos.  Up until now, I haven't been in the hospital with her, but for this, they allowed me to come in the 10 steps inside the door after screening me to see if I had been around or had covid.  It was beautiful to share this moment with her.  We both cried.
After, we drove by and did a socially distant visit with Julie in her driveway.  This was out of my comfort zone but felt necessary for the celebration of this milestone in the cancer journey.  We all wore masks.
The province opened up to stage one of the reopening plan on Friday June 11th.  While I am not yet comfortable with restaurant dining and the other things that are open, this felt like it made sense.  We came home, and enjoyed her favourite home cooked meal of chicken and mashed potatoes, we toasted to the journey and we also had cake that Hadley decorated.  The journey isn't over as she will have to build up her strength that she lost from the past year but the burn wounds from radiation will heal in likely 10-14 days.
It was an important day!  Much congratulations to her for her perseverance through it all!
On the Covid front... I will be so happy once we are all two dosed vaccinated plus the two weeks that it takes to have your body work with the vaccine.  We are on our way... 63% of Ontario is one dose vaccinated, and 13% is two dose vaccinated.
