32 Weeks

Today the baby is 32 wks LMP (30 wks gestation)and weighs 3.75 lbs or 1702 grams and is 16.19 inches or 42.4 cm long. (According to pregnancy.org).

This week apparently the baby's brain and nerves are developing, and directing bodily functions. Tastebuds are also developing.  I wonder what tastes good?  Sweet, sour, salty?

I think it is time to give up on wearing heals to work.  I wore just slight heals yesterday and it just isn't worth it.  I think I will be wearing flats going forward!

On Monday (January 15) we went to the Ajax Hospital to have a tour.  It was short, about 20 minutes but they showed us the labour and delivery rooms, complete with jacuzzi tubs, and chairs that turn into beds for the dads.  There is a pantry that we can use (bringing in juice or snacks that we might like while we are there), as well as the family and friends waiting area.  We walked through the recovery room area which had private and semi-private rooms and then saw the nursery.  (The nursery is only used for sick babies, not healthy ones.  Healthy babies always stay with the mom).  There are also two overnight hostel rooms for mothers and families who have been discharged before their babies are ready to go home.

We pre-registered and found out that certain doors are locked after 10pm, so now I think we have a better idea of what to expect when we get there for the birthday.  (At least as far as our surroudings and registration).  :)

But the question is, have you mapped out my route!

That all depends on where you will be at the time.  :)
