31 weeks, Prenatal Class #2

We are now 31 wks LMP (29 wks gestation).  The baby weighs 3.31 lbs or 1502 grams and is 16.18 inches or 41.1 cm long. (According to pregnancy.org).

We had another midwife appointment today with our backup midwife.  (Lisa).  She went through the regular routine, and my blood pressure was a little higher this week at 108 over 58.  Still normal.  My stomach measurement is now 32 centimeters which is normal as it is supposed to be around the same number as the weeks you are within 2 centimeters.

After our appointment and after dinner we headed to the Ajax hospital where we had prenatal class #2.  Tonight's class featured videos on three different natural births as well as some breathing and relaxation techniques and some interesting conversation around poo.  This was all followed by a nice massage at the end to Pachabel's Canon.  (The song I walked down the aisle to).  I will have to remember that this song was quite relaxing for me.  Speaking of our wedding, our flower girl Meaghan called because she was excited about our baby and wanted to see how we were doing.  We loved hearing from her.

Brian and I had a great conversation about the day and things we learned.  It is fun to go through each week and see how each of us reacts to the new things we learn.

Wiggles and squiggles.  In the last week it has been most interesting to note that the movement of the baby is quite different.  It seems that the baby is trying to use all the space available which means a lot of rib kicks, and even dragging of little limbs accross my stomach.  Sometimes I really need to stretch out to get more comfortable or to get a good breath in, but I love feeling the baby move.  Sometimes it feels like a tidal wave in there.
I love also that Brian can now see and feel more movement.

Washroom breaks are coming fast and furious these days.  I suppose I should get used to that though.
