Severe stenosis of the right carotid artery

2006-11-09 12:35:49 • by Leanne Verkley

Last night and a today have been quite emotional for me.

The background:
A while back my mom suffered a stroke and at other times a few symptoms that were associated with additonal possible strokes.  Her doctors suggested that she had severe stenosis of the right carotid artery and needed an endarterectomy.

Today:
She went in for surgery in London (which for me, London hospital always means serious).  The link below will explain it a little further, but basically she had a clogged artery in her neck that had to be cleaned out.  This morning was long but now that I have received a phone call from my sister saying that she is awake in recovery, I feel a lot better.  She isn't able to see visitors yet, so I intend to go see her this weekend.

God is good, and answers prayer!
Thanks to God and all who joined my prayer circle!

:) I was certainly praying for Auntie Jannet last night, and I am super happy to know that everything went well.

Sorry to hear about your mom, surgery is not a good word to hear these days. I am glad she is doing better and that the doctors found out what the problem was.
