Echo in here, I want to here your thoughts.

I'm not really sure why I'm blogging.  It just seems like the right thing to do.  I've read this guys blog : http://www.michaelhanscom.com/eclecticism/ for over a year now, and really enjoy it, even though I have no other contact with him and have little in common.  I like the writting style, I'm interested in his alternative lifestyle, and he just posts cool stuff that often makes me think.

Julie (although she's been quite for a while) and now Lisa are blogging, and I enjoy reading those as well.  Good to know what they are up to, as we don't communicate via other means regularly.  So I guess I wanted to return the favor.

Where am I going with this?  What should I blog about, and who is it really for?  Is it a "journal" substitue, which is either designed to record your thoughts for future reference, or as a method of making you analyze thoughts?  Is it a "report" on Brian's life, to keep other family/friends in the loop?  Is it a "scratchpad" where I add my crazy daily ancedotes to the world wide web for the entertainment of strangers?

All of the above leads to different writing styles (such as the use of capitalization) and different topics to post and avoid.

I guess for now, I am going to continue to experiment.  Write different types and styles and topics, until I find one I like, or prove this whole blogging thing a waste of time, whichever comes first.

If you read this, let me know your thoughts.  Would you prefer to read the journal, the report, or the scratchpad?

Whoa, I gotta come here more often. I like you having a blog so I can know what you are up to. I'm going to redo my blogs into just one I think, so I can blog about more than just my camera. Got a new massive site in the works too. Stay tuned for details. As to your format? Just keep writing about whatever you want. We'll catch up.

You are my favorite writer! I don't think you can narrow it down to one format since it is about life, and life changes all the time. Yes, you should keep a record of happenings, yes, I hope you analyze what you actually do, and realize that you are quite an amazing person, yes it keeps family and friends in the loop, as you aren't the type to pick up the phone without real reason, and yes, as you document, I am sure strangers will see the craziness that you call life, and be happy to have met you even if not in person. Kind of like the other blog that you read. :) Keep writing.

I think "Zany" is the right word Brian...meaning a "character"..not the silly or foolish meaning. You are YOU and we love you and it looks like we love reading all about you.
Keep it up! Just happy those aliens brought you back in time for your FIRST anniversary!!! BE HAPPY B and L
